AV News 177 - August 2009 National Audio Visual Championships By the time that you read this page we will only be a few weeks away from the 16th Championships. If you haven't already sent off your entry and booking then please do so ASAP, the Information Pack should tell you all you need to know to complete the forms and post them off. If you haven't received a pack then please contact the secretary Brian Jeffs. In these troubled days when we all have less money in our pockets, we have made an effort to reduce the cost of attending the event, mainly by cutting the championship down to two days and by choosing a less expensive place to stay, but also more importantly trying to keep the quality high and all to happen under the one roof. You will have noticed that we have stated a projector resolution of 1400x1050px, why we have been asked? The committee thought long and hard before making a decision to move to this increased amount of pixels, several AV Groups have now purchased projectors of this resolution and their members are making new sequences at 1400x1050. We have been told that no other AV Festival has made the move; therefore someone has to be first, we are confident others will follow. The other side of photography, the print and slide workers, now that the slide has been replaced by the Projected Image you will notice that the majority of events state entries to be 1400x1050.
