Clarification of Rule 14
Following discussions with the PRS for Music and PPL The Society has
ascertained that a blanket licensing scheme for AV productions containing
copyright material is impractical to apply for Society internet use. This situation
is unlikely to change in the near future, consequently entrants will not be required
to agree to make their work available as a condition of entry.
However, if AV productions are entered into the Nationals Festival that include
rights-free content, or where the applicant has arranged copyright clearance
then The Society would welcome the opportunity to show these via the website.
The copyright of all sequences remains with the authors.
The Venue
The venue for the 18th RPS National AV Championships is The University of
Nottingham Sutton Bonington campus, our home for twelve Championships.
The Sutton Bonington campus is situated on the border of Nottinghamshire and
Leicestershire, just minutes from the M1 junction 24, and close to rail and air
links. The 16 hectare campus is a superb rural retreat with plenty of room for
that all important morning stroll. The lecture theatre, restaurant and bars have
all recently been upgraded with bright new paintwork and tasteful furnishings.
Our accommodation is the newly built Costock Hall of Residence. It consists
of 'flats', each with 4 - 5 single study bedrooms, and double studio bedrooms all
with en-suite facilities, coffee and tea supplies and toiletries pack, and a
communal lounge / kitchen area. The double rooms are very limited in number,
so please book early to avoid any disappointment.
