AV News 201 - August 2015 Voices also need consideration. On occasion, an otherwise very good sequence was let down by a flat or unemotional sounding voice-over. One suggestion was to make friends with your local amateur dramatic club, then source a member with a good voice willing to make a recording for you. The judges' comments were well considered, very helpful and constructive. Quite often, they went over the allotted two minutes for each review - but the attendees didn't seem to mind the late finishes this resulted in, for such informative feedback. Over the lunch break, Joan and Clive said it took them up to an hour and a half to write up the comments on EACH sequence - and they had then printed out, for each entrant, a copy of those extensive tips and comments - on every aspect of individual sequences - which were made available at the end of the day to those who wanted one. In fact, it took hours and hours and days and days of carefully viewing all the sequences before they came to their decisions. Each time they viewed a sequence, even if they'd seen it before, they always found something more, something new - to see and enjoy. Do make a note that early next April will see the 2016 AV Day, at the same venue. Already, Alan and Sheila are planning to make changes! Full details will be posted on the above website for this increasingly popular WCPF event.
