AV News 190 - November 2012
The Society over the years has had a number of members interested in AV
hence the introduction of our competition, these members have helped to
promote AV within our Society. As members have seen more and more
sequences shown by lecturers as well as more and more software becoming
available. The interest in making AV's has increased whereby members can
now combine there imagery with audio to tell a story.
This year we were very pleased to welcome John Smith APAGB CPAGB to
judge our Annual Competition. The subjects ranged from the Birth of a Lamb,
Liverpool's Giant's (Sea Odyssey), Dogs, Venice Carnival, Brouhaha Faces,
Marrakesh and Sailing to name just a few.
John's choice as winner was 'Reflections of Venice Carnival 2012' by
Martin Reece MBE ARPS, followed by 2 sequences of the Liverpool Giant's as
they became known from the successful Sea Odyssey event. Well it is hoped
that this years competition will inspire more members to have a go next year.
With that in mind John Smith will be returning in the new year with his lecture
'AV for beginners'. This will hopefully show just how easy it is to get started.
