AV News 191 - February 2013
· My thanks to Howard. He is a brilliant 'Av-ier' and an inspiration. His
teaching experience makes it easy to listen to him. It was noticeable that
he shares his knowledge without hesitation. Being a beginner, I learnt so
much that I feel a bit dazzled. It will most definitely take time to absorb
the information that he shared. However, I am inspired! Louisa

You must have a sense of humour - there is no way that my generation
is going to join facebook or twitter ! We like our privacy - but then we are
dinosaurs! Yes, it was a super day, and we all learnt a lot. Eric Thorburn
Howard's visit was like a transfusion. There is a great big world out there and
we need to experience all dimensions of it before setting our own AV course.
We hope we can entice another visitor to our shores in the not too distant
future. Thank you, Howard and Carole, for your legacy.

South Africa - landscape, lions and lectures
Howard Bagshaw ARPS MPAGB
It was really quite surreal. We had spent the day in the bush with elephants,
rhinos and lions. Back in the camp, after a braai (South African BBQ - their
national sport!) a little group of us had sat in the dark, in the open, watching
AVs on a laptop. Around us we had the sounds of the jungle while herds of
Impala and Zebra wandered past. Not your average RPS AV day!
Carole and I spent five weeks in
South Africa, mainly on holiday,
but also doing four talks to
camera clubs and AV groups.
