The annual competition for the best Audio Visual workers in the Midlands, is
traditionally held on the last Saturday in January. This year on 26th January
the region was blanketed in snow and under a Met Office Amber snow warning.
In spite of this
more
than
40
people
bravely
turned out to see
the 27 sequences
being shown at
The Priory Centre,
Burton-upon-Trent.
Unfortunately two people who couldn't make it, from Snowdonia, Marion
Waine and John Rowell, were two of our three judges. However Richard
Brown, our third judge, fortunately did make it. He watched and expertly
commented to the audience on each of the sequences.
As usual, the audience were also asked to participate and choose their
favourite sequence. Their views coincided with the 'official' judges this year, to
give us a universally agreed winner. I would like to thank the entrants for
submitting their work, the audience for turning out on a potentially awful day,
members of the MCPF committee for their help, but to particularly thank the
members of the Staffordshire AV group for running the event.
The sequences were eventually judged by dint of e-mail, snail-mail and
collaborative phone calls between the judges. The results were:
