AV News 179 - February 2010
We spent the following morning watching and discussing about 15
sequences on a fair variety of subjects including Erhard's First Prize Winner
'Time and Eternity' from this year’s French festival 'Photosynthèse' and a
past GP winner, Ron Davies’ ‘Hedd Wyn’ (in his absence). We showed my
'Fair Game' as a way of introducing to the group my husband's work with
pheasants and of course there were a few of my fish swimming around on
the screen with 'Deeper Values'. Other participants were Ricardo Volpe
himself and his brother Roberto, Blaise Lavanex from Geneva with several
very striking sequences and a new diaporamist, Markus Peissard who is
producing some sensitive and imaginative work and I hope we shall hear
more of him in the future.
In the afternoon Ricardo
surprised us by having arranged
visits to the two Courbusier
houses in the town. Erhard's
shutter was clicking so much we
suspected a new sequence in the
making! But no, he was making
photographic notes for his
daughter Vera who is studying
architecture. That evening we
went to another lovely old manorhouse restaurant with flagged

floors and wooden beams and
once again sampled the delights of the superb local cuisine before reluctantly
saying "Au revoir" as we parted.
I must thank particularly
Erhard and Heidy for
showing us around their
part of Switzerland and for
allowing us to park our
rather large vehicle in their
driveway! Also thanks go to
Ricardo and Roberto Volpe
for organising a superb
meeting of like-minded
diaporamists.
Over the last few years
I've made some lovely
friends by going to foreign
AV
festivals,
these

memorable few days would
never have happened otherwise. I would encourage others to attend
European festivals, the locals are always most welcoming and it gets us off
this little island of ours and broadens our horizons!
