Please note that the NAVC committee are very
pleased to announce that all information about the
2011 National AV Championships is now fully up
and running on their website at www.navc.org.uk
where all the necessary forms for entering and
booking accommodation, meals, entry to sessions
etc can be downloaded. We have already received
a firm booking from a gentleman living in South
Africa, even though this is a national and not an
international event. Considering the great distance
between Sutton Bonington and South Africa you
may consider yourself as local by comparison, no
matter where you live within the UK. Therefore as a 'local' event this is almost
on your doorstep, so there's really no reason for not attending. This is a great
opportunity to take part in a major Audio-Visual competition, especially if
you've never done so before. You will be participating in the biggest and
friendliest National AV event with a great social atmosphere. Make sure you
book accommodation early to avoid disappointment. Please note that the
closing date for entering your sequence is Saturday 6th August. Although
this may seem a long time into the future it will be upon you before you
realise. If you need to make a new sequence for this event, or polish up an
older one then now is the time to do so.
Many of our readers will already know that Brian Jeffs FRPS has been an
invaluable member of the RPS Audio-Visual Group for many years, a true
stalwart. Throughout this time Brian has admirably fulfilled the roles of
Treasurer, Chairman and latterly the Group Secretary. Brian has also served
as Festival Representative to both the Nationals and Internationals
committees, and also Regional Organiser for East Midlands AV Days. All
good things eventually come to an end. Brian has announced his retirement
from his secretarial duties which he has always undertaken with great
efficiency and for which we are very grateful. We shall therefore be looking
to elect a replacement AV Group Sec ɕх
