The time flew by, it got to the point where it would not be practical to show any
sequences and we agreed with Robert to start packing away. Right on cue, the
lights came back on!
Joan - By this time it was 9.30pm at which point Robert offered to do his Show
and was prepared to stay until midnight. Peter Brown, who chaired the
evening, suggested that we ask Maureen and Robert back ASAP.
Was it meant for them to break the habit of doing an individual Show after
all? Perhaps not.
Malcolm - Everybody agreed that we had had a most unusual, interesting and
entertaining evening and there was unanimous consent to invite Robert back
next season. just Robert though! Maybe, with hindsight, it was tempting
providence to entitle the evening 'It'll be all bright on the night!'

The idea was to play AVs, finished or not and to help one another with
suggested improvements and changes while there was still time for panel
beating. Some AVs were the very first brave attempts of the authors while
others were from experienced audio-visual makers. We played 20 short shows
and lively, constructive discussion followed each one. We all went away with
new perspectives and energised to do better.
Some of the more general ideas to come out (not necessarily consensus)
were the following. Give thought to the introduction and closure of the show
and learn how to convey your message, if it is not obvious. Take care with
choice of music so that it fits the mood of your piece. Transitions can be
underdone or overdone but there are no rules - transitions contribute a certain
feeling which should be appropriate to what you are tryi
