The afternoon was given over to Edgar and Linda's ‘Digital Magic Lantern Show’
which was a treat for all concerned. They concentrated on this occasion on the
elements required for producing an acceptable soundtrack making use of the
relatively new sound mixing facility now incorporated in PicturesToExe 8. Picking
up what came across in this presentation coupled with the comments made on
earlier attendee's sequences, gave us a very helpful list of sound-related ‘Do's
and Don'ts’ such as:- Suitable choice
of music to match the visual images so
there is harmony between the two;
using a voiceover rather than too
much text to tell the story as the latter
can be distracting when incorporated
with the image; avoid vocal music to
prevent clashes with voiceover
commentary; pace the latter and vary
inflections to help the story flow and
ensuring that background music levels
are always reduced sufficiently d
