AV News 182 - November 2010
EMAVG 25th Anniversary
Marie Thompson
The 2010/11 session sees the East Midlands Audio Visual Group celebrate 25
years of producing audio visual sequences, with some special events. In October
there will be an evening of 'Golden Oldies', when some of the Group's long
standing members will show selections from their 'colour slide' shows,
painstakingly produced before everything went digital. Two nationally known AV
specialists will present lectures and AV sequences, Richard Brown visits in
January and Maureen and Robert Albright will entertain in March.
The session started on 14th September with a 'Workshop Night' where help
and advice were freely available on any aspect of producing sequences. Our
Secretary, Peggy, demonstrated her way of putting a sequence together, which
was supplemented by comments and additional points from the members
present. Member Bob gave a sort presentation demonstrating the new sound
track possibilities in PTE 6.5. Will this replace Audacity and Audition produced
tracks, or is its current lack of multi track wave forms on the time line a
disadvantage?
Included in the year's programme are lectures, competitions, inter club battles
and social events. The Group meets on the second Tuesday of the month at St
John's Community Centre, Packhorse Drive, St. John's, Enderby, LE19 2RN
commencing at 7.30pm. New members are always welcome, so if you take
photographs and would like to learn how to show them in a different and
interesting way, why not come along to see what AV is about.
