AV News 194 - November 2013
Jim told us that once he has produced a sequence he always saves it as a
template, he explained the advantages of doing this. He also did a little tutorial
on batch processing followed by, how to replace a sky in your image using the
Background Eraser Tool in Photoshop. Jim had prepared these two tutorials as
a handout but had not printed them off (not knowing how many would be
required) but the people who wanted them added their names to a list, and they
were duly sent out as an attachment. An idea for other speakers at AV Days or
clubs etc. to adopt, because unless you can do shorthand notes, or you are a
very quick writer, most of us come away not being able to remember it all.
Richard took to the floor again for
the remainder of the afternoon,
showing us some of his award
winning sequences, including ‘The
Man Who Saw the Future’ which
was appropriate and like a
Homecoming, as it is about John
Logie Baird. As with this one and the
others we saw, Richard made
comments or had a little story to tell
about them all, but the time arrived
all too soon for us to stop.
To sum up, the day went very well
running to time as planned, and by
the appreciative applause from the
"Shall we use this CHAD projector or the
audience, Richard & Jim did us
CANON that the SPF have supplied"
proud. The feed back I've received
has all been favourable.
