This new facility, situated in Pinetown, offers UD Trucks customers in the region a proverbial one-stop-shop with complete sales, service, parts and finance support. CMH is an investment holding company with wellestablished roots in the retail motor sector. But, to many underprivileged young women this powerful weapon is compromised by their natural monthly cycle. Many young women cannot afford to purchase the bare essentials, like feminine sanitary products. This in turn keeps them away from school and from their education for weeks each year, resulting in bad marks and even failures. The team at Bavarian Motorcycles, a registered BMW Motorcycle dealership - based in Centurion, was deeply touched by the plight of these young women. Together with the Catholic Women’s League’s Lynwood, Pretoria-branch managed to raise enough product to keep 133 girls in school for a whole year at their 2013 fundraising/product drive-event. Half of the collected | logistics in action products were distributed at NPO’s in Swaziland and Tzaneen as well as Bronkhorstspruit via support from the Nan Hua Temple. The remainder of the product was disseminated to girls at the Boitshepo Catholic School in Hammanskraal. “When we first heard about the plight of some of the young women in our country, we wanted to get involved immediately,” explains Sharon Smith, marketing manager of Bavarian Motorcycles. “This is a long -term initiative, and we hope to keep raising funds for products – so we can do our part to keep girls in school each year.” The very popular and beloved DJ Fresh joined in on the day to add to the excitement and to show his support for the initiative.
