The TV commercials make use of real people with inspiring stories. One such example is Boitumelo, 31 years, from Windsor East, Johannesburg. Despite the financial burden of three children, Boitumelo and Samuel, her husband of 13 years, fostered her late sister’s two babies and provide a loving family for them. ➲ Boitumelo with one of her foster children “For the first time in history, Nivea has created a television commercial, not featuring models, but real South African people. The commercial tells the story of three everyday heroes in South Africa and celebrates their incredible acts of kindness and generosity. These people not only love, but also live by the true embodiment of ubuntu – the belief that together we are so much more,” explains Kerstin Bird, marketing director of Beiersdorf Southern Africa. Volkswagen Scoops Two Awards Volkswagen Group South Africa (VWSA) recently scooped two awards. It got the highest accolade at the WasteCon Top Green Organisation Gala Event, which took place in East London, when it won the Large Organisation Category with High Impact in the Environmental and the Clean Production fields. This is the second time that VWSA has won this category. In addition, VWSA is the first automotive manufacturing company in South Africa to achieve the international ISO 50001 certification for its energy management systems implemented at both the Uitenhage and Port Elizabeth plants.
