Challenges and Needs of Families with Children

Parents expressed safety concerns related to their children wandering, self-injury, and aggression. These were among the biggest concerns for their children's future.

Parents of teenagers also highlighted safety concerns, including wandering, self-injury, and aggression, as significant worries for their teenager's future.

Regarding transition to adulthood, safety and long-term supervision needs were a major concern.

For adults with profound autism, parents again cited safety concerns such as wandering, self-injury, and aggression as primary worries for their adult children's future.

In terms of long-term care, parents expressed concern about safety in the community and the need for well-trained caregivers to ensure their adult child's safety.
