DAY 1 Brisbane / Hinterland ( Montville )
On arrival , collect your hire car and head for the Sunshine Coast Hinterland , a drive which winds past the Glass House Mountains , an awe-inspiring collection of 11 ranges that dominate the horizon . Continue onto your home for the next two nights nestled in pristine rainforest . ( 61 miles ).
DAY 2 Hinterland ( Montville )
Make the most of your surrounding and the luxurious facilities on offer at your hotel or venture into Montville to explore this quaint village . Alternatively , head further afield to visit Kandalilla National Park , a great place to go walking , have a picnic or cool down in a waterfall .
DAY 3 Hinterland ( Montville )/ Mooloolaba
Drive along the coast to picturesque Mooloolaba which boasts a handful of beaches , and if surfing ’ s your thing , don ’ t miss Alexandra Headland ( 20 miles ).
DAY 4 Mooloolaba
The action in Mooloolaba is all along the shore and you really can ’ t leave here without diving into the ocean or walking along the esplanade . When it ’ s time to satisfy hunger pangs , the main street has a bucketful of cosmopolitan cafés , restaurants , surf clubs and bars .
DAY 5 Mooloolaba / Noosa

DAY 6 Noosa
A day to relax or explore , the choice is yours ! You ’ ll find plenty of beaches speckling the coastline of Noosa National Park , while the Noosa Hinterland is a sleepy countryside region jam-packed with local produce and treasures . There ’ s also the Noosa Everglades , which is best explored on an eco-cruise or in a kayak .
DAY 7 Noosa / Hervey Bay
Continue your journey to Hervey Bay , which boasts an unspoilt coastline , quiet charm and raw nature . It ’ s also the world ’ s whale watching capital , with prime viewing season from June to September . You ’ re sure to enjoy the pick of world-class cafés and restaurants - with Hervey Bay scallops a local speciality ( 116 miles ).
DAY 8 Hervey Bay / K ’ gari ( Fraser Island )
A fabulous day lies ahead as you embark on an included tour to discover the world ’ s largest sand island . Led by an experienced local guide , see K ’ gari ’ s ( Fraser Island ) iconic sights including Lake McKenzie for a revitalising swim in the crystal-clear waters , a drive along 75 Mile Beach , Eli Creek for a float down this fast-flowing freshwater creek , and a glimpse of the historic Maheno Shipwreck .
DAY 9 Hervey Bay
Return to your car at the airport for your onward journey . Alternatively , why not continue your explorations and drive further up the northern Queensland coast ?
