DAY 1 Darwin / Top End Safari Camp
Morning coach transfer from Darwin to the Top End Safari Camp , which is about a 90 minute drive and located off Fogg Bay Road , towards Dundee Beach . The camp is situated in an exclusive location on the edge of a river system in the Litchfield region and has just 15 tents spread across the camp to provide a very intimate , authentic outback experience . During the afternoon activities , you will immerse yourself in the nature and beauty of the Top End with breathtaking views from a scenic helicopter flight followed by the thrill of an airboat ride whilst spotting crocodiles , wildlife and birds , and also get to encounter and feed crocodiles which have been rescued .
Return to camp and perhaps freshen off in the infinity pool before heading to the sky deck to soak up an incredible Top End sunset over the floodplains . Later , you ’ ll dine on a mouthwatering outback BBQ dinner and can then take your place around the fire pit to gaze in wonder at the splendour of the outback sky . After marvelling at the night sky , retreat to your bespoke tent , which deliver a luxurious outback glamping experience complete with double bed , open-air shower and private deck area .
DAY 2 Top End Safari Camp / Darwin
Rise and shine to the smell of a cooked breakfast and the songs of native birds before it ’ s time for the morning coach transfer back to Darwin ..
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Departures : Monday & Thursday-Sunday between Apr-Oct .
Accommodation : In glamping tents with double bed , outdoor open-air shower and private deck . Each tent is located within close proximity to the sky deck , fire pit , pool and the shared toilet facilities . If you are travelling with children ( 4-14 years ), up to two rollaway beds are permitted per tent .
Meals : Dinner on day 1 and breakfast on day 2 .
Tour price : The price shown for this unique experience includes return coach transfers from Darwin , accommodation and activities as outlined on day 1 .

DAY 1 Alice Springs / Wallaby
An early start , and its bye bye suburbia – hello wilderness ! The first walk is around an 8½ mile ‘ leg stretch ’ commencing from the outskirts of Alice Springs . Some beautiful views can be seen , particularly at Euro Ridge . Later , the ground support vehicle will transfer you to the remote camping location within MacDonnell Ranges National Park .
DAY 2 Serpentine Gorge / Serpentine Chalet Dam
Head to the spectacular western half of the Larapinta Trail and onto a 8.3 mile section of the trail that is only suitable for well-prepared , experienced walkers with a good fitness level . It offers exhilarating views of the high quartzite ridgelines that typify the West MacDonnell Ranges , including Haasts Bluff and Mt Zeil .
DAY 3 Ormiston Gorge / Glen Helen Gorge
Today , traverse the low-lying regions surrounding Ormiston Gorge , gradually working your way upward into the back reaches of the Finke River . This area is steeped in traditional folklore , with several important sites being viewed , including ‘ Yapulpa ’, which is part of the Carpet Snake Dreaming legend and the Emu and Kangaroo Man Dreaming . The walking distance today is just under 7 miles . Tonight , relax at the beautiful permanent campsite as the sun sets and the colours of the night desert erupt into million-star accommodation .
DAY 4 Mount Sonder Climb
An early rise is an understatement as you take on the 5 mile climb to the peak of Mount Sonder . The vision of sunrise and the 360 ° view will leave you speechless – a truly unforgettable achievement . Enjoy time at camp and last evening under the stars .
DAY 5 Ormiston Pound Walk / Alice Springs
Regarded by many as the ‘ primo ’ small walk of the Larapinta Trail , the Ormiston Pound Walk is full of wow factor , wildlife and flora and a grand finale to the walk . Sensational viewings of the Chewing ’ s Range and Mount Giles – the entry into the Gorge will leave you dumbfounded . After lunch , break camp and begin the journey back to normality ( hot showers and life as you know it awaits ). This evening , meet your guide and fellow travellers at one of Alice ’ s Outback restaurants for dinner and a refreshing drink or two .

Accommodation : Permanent campsites on Indigenous land complete with safari tents . No electricity and showers .
Meals : Breakfast on days 2-5 . Lunch and dinner on days 1-5 . Also includes hot and cold soft drinks ( it ’ s possible to take your own alcohol should you wish to ).
Tour price : The price shown for this walking tour includes camping equipment , 4WD vehicle for all transportation , services of an accredited guide , national park fees , traditional owners & camping fees , and hotel pick up and drop off on the first and last day of tour .
Accommodation is required in Alice Springs prior to and after the walk , as on the afternoon prior to departure , you meet your guide and fellow travellers , while on day 5 dinner is in a restaurant in the town ( accommodation available at extra expense ).
