DAY 1 Cairns / Green Island
Make your way to Cairns Wharf for the 45 minutes catamaran journey to Green Island , a unique coral cay which is home to a tropical rainforest and surrounded by the Great Barrier Reef . Recognised as a very special place , it has been protected with National Park status , while the reef and underwater habitats are part of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park . In addition , both Green Island and its reefs are included in the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area , which gives it international protection under UNESCO .
Once settled into your suite , why not try out a few of the complimentary resort activities ? These include snorkelling , a glass-bottom boat tour , most non-motorised beach equipment and a host of guided activities . After dusk , when daytrippers leave the island , soak up the island ’ s tranquillity before complimentary sunset drinks , and perhaps enjoy some dusk activities including fish feeding from the jetty , an island walk and star gazing .
DAY 2 Green Island
For a complete Great Barrier Reef holiday experience a day cruise is included from Green Island to the Outer Barrier Reef for three hours at the Outer Reef Activity Platform . This stable activity platform is the perfect base for swimmers and non-swimmers to explore , with the option to snorkel and dive , visit the underwater observatory and cruise in a semi-submersible or , just relax on the sundeck .
DAY 3 Green Island / Cairns
If time allows , enjoy additional activities or simply laze on the beach before your return catamaran transfer to Cairns Wharf .

DAY 1 Cairns / Lizard Island

DAY 2 Lizard Island

Tours of the Research Station are also available , for an insight into the work that the resort does to protect and preserve the Great Barrier Reef . Another option is to grab a picnic hamper and some snorkel gear , then hop on a motorised dinghy ( full induction and instructions are provided ) and set off to a private beach for a day of tranquillity and exploring . If that all sounds far too energetic , take the opportunity to harmonise mind , body and soul at the Essentia Day Spa .
DAY 3 Lizard Island / Cairns
Before you bid farewell to this island paradise , enjoy an activity or two before your transfer to the airport for the return flight to Cairns .
