By Ora North Picture a lake in the middle of the forest, as still and as clear as a mirror. The sun has almost started rising, and there are gorgeous shades of pink and purple reflecting on the water like two separate skies, meeting together in perfect harmony. Then you see a beautiful white swan, gliding across the water silently, leaving only a small ripple behind her. She is unspeakably graceful. You watch in awe as you see a second swan, gliding from the other side of the lake. They meet in the middle of the lake, their necks forming a heart shape before you as the sun bursts from behind the trees of the horizon. This, you realize, is beauty. This is love. The swan is the perfect animal for February, as she is the guide to call upon if you are ready to find your mate. The swan teaches us to find our inner beauty. She builds up our self-esteem and shows us how to glide through life with acceptance and grace. It may seem her life is effortless, but that is only because she has built an inner knowing which gives her peace even in rough waters. She is a creature of water, having dominion over our feminine insight, dreams and emotions. She is also a creature of song and poetry. Call upon her for love: love for another and love for the self. She is also a being of commitment, so only call upon her if you are ready for a big commitment yourself. Affirmations from the swan: “I am committed to finding love and beauty in all that I see and do.” “I am beautiful and graceful, and glide through life with inner knowing and inner peace.” “I am open to giving and receiving love from my mate, as I freely accept the beauty of my dreams and emotions.” Photo credit: freedigitalimages.com
