The Colours of Love
February is here – as is Valentine’s Day….and the focus is on LOVE…
So, what is Love?
AND
What do Colours have to do with Love?
Colour is the expression of life force as white light separated into parts and Love is the prime
mover of all relationships in the world. They are inextricably linked. Every emotion is
energetically expressed as a colour.
Is love a concept, feeling or action, or all three? You choose…
My general conception of love is that Love is about connection and the feelings of warmth, generosity of spirit, energy and happiness.
It’s a warm feeling based upon knowing and accepting someone. This relationship often involves mutual learning, caring and growth.
Also, when you love someone you generally want them to be happy. Love “makes the world go ‘round’....ultimately it’s about our relationships with others; family, friends, lover(s).
ALSO
The Greek Philosophers defined love in five ways
Agape – selfless love for God and humanity
Eros – intimate love often passionate and sexual, sensual love of beauty
Platonic – friendship without sexual expression passion
Philia - affectionate regard or friendship that includes loyalty to friends, family, and community, and requires virtue, equality and familiarity
Storge - is natural affection, like that felt by parents for offspring
According to what I see in people’s auras, I am going to assign one colour to each type of LOVE and tell you why I selected it. I do not
always find the colour IN the Chakra, but there is a natural association in symbolism between a colour and a Chakra.
Self-Love- This is a positive feeling that you have about who you are and what you deser ve. It often is expressed by treating
yourself well, respecting yourself, wanting yourself to be happy and expecting others to respect you too. This type of love can be associated with the Sacral Chakra and tones of Orange. The Sacral Chakra governs relationships and the first relationship we have is with
our Self. If this is positive then the tones of bright orange & apricot will be strong in the aura. If you respect and care for yourself, you
can be motivated and socially confident, which the colour orange also denotes.
Unconditional Love- A type of affection and car ing that is so strong that you feel it
consistently, regardless of what that other person does. This type of Love is Associated
with colour Blue and one of its key attributes, particularly the indigo blue, is loyalty – no
matter what!
Conditional Love- A love that requires specific actions or conditions in or der to be
maintained and when they do not occur, the love is withdrawn, which often also leads to
negative passions and anger occurring; the flip side of being loving. This type of Love is
Associated with the Solar Plexus Chakra and the colour Mustard Yellow. The Solar Plexus
Chakra governs conditions and judgements and the colour Mustard Yellow is about worry
and judgement; feeling that has been over-mentalised and turned negative.
