JSAMS Ready to Welcome Students Back for a New School Year by Dr. Tara Battaglia, Principal
Excitement is building as Jersey Shore Area Middle School prepares to open its doors for another successful school year. Faculty and staff have spent the summer preparing classrooms, reviewing curriculum, and planning engaging learning experiences that will help every Bulldog learn, grow, and succeed.
The first days of school are an exciting opportunity for students to reconnect with friends, meet their teachers, and establish routines that will lead to a successful year. Families are encouraged to review school schedules, attendance, and transportation information in the handbook before the start of the year.
Welcome Back, Bulldog Nation! Dr. Battaglia, Mr. McGregor, and the rest of the staff look forward to welcoming both returning students and those entering sixth grade. Throughout the year, students can expect rigorous academics, opportunities to participate in clubs and athletics, and a continued focus on building positive relationships and school pride.
Important Reminders:
• Students should arrive on time each day ready to learn. Doors open at 8am, school begins at 8:30am.
• iPads should be fully charged before coming to school each day.
Communication is key. Parents and guardians are encouraged to stay connected by checking district communications regularly, monitoring student progress through the district ' s new online Sapphire Community Portal, and attending school events throughout the year. Open communication between home and school plays an important role in student success.
Get involved. Students are encouraged to explore extracurricular activities, including athletics, music programs, and a variety of clubs and activities. Participation in school activities helps students build friendships, leadership skills, and school spirit.
This year, the Middle School will continue emphasizing its Habits of a Bulldog Nation as the foundation of a positive learning environment. Staff members are committed to supporting students academically, socially, and emotionally while helping them reach their full potential.
As the countdown to opening day continues, everyone at Jersey Shore Area Middle School looks forward to welcoming students and families back for another outstanding year. Together, we can make the 2026 – 2027 school year one filled with learning, growth, achievement, and Bulldog pride!
