Welcome to 2023-2024 ! from the Head of School
This annual back-to-school newsletter is designed to provide an overview of information to help parents and students prepare for the new school year . This newsletter will be followed up with weekly Monday emails throughout the rest of the month as additional information that needs to be shared and as updates are made . Our Monday emails will continue throughout the rest of the school year , too .
All students ( new and returning ) should have already received their school supply lists ( elementary students , middle school students , and high school math students ). If you did not receive your supply lists , they are also available through the CCS app ( within the “ Parents ” button ). Course schedules are also available to middle and high school students through their Sycamore accounts . All new CCS parents should have received an email with login credentials to begin accessing our school ’ s secure web portal referred to as Sycamore Education . Please be sure to log in ASAP , because you will also need that login information when it is time to schedule parent-teacher conferences in the fall .
We will soon be emailing new CCS parents their logins to our Schoology portal , too . The default is to send the login credentials to only one parent ( for you to share ), but if you desire to have two parent logins ( or to change the email address of the one parent login ), please notify the office so that we can set that up for you .
If you have not yet downloaded our free CCS app to your smartphone , please download that as soon as possible . The app provides the most convenient forms of communication possible ( between home and school ) along with a multitude of helpful school resources right at your fingertips . You will also use the school ’ s app to update your contact preferences with SchoolMessenger , the means by which we make school-wide phone calls throughout the school year about snow days , late openings , and other types of emergency notifications . It will soon be time ( mid-September ) to verify those preferences , so you will want to have the app installed and ready to go !
When you come to our Back-to School Nights , we will formally introduce you to an exciting year of Self-Study throughout the 2023-2024 school year as we prepare for re-accreditation ( with ACSI and MSA ). This process is so important to our commitment to continuous school improvement !
