Ford Focuses on Africa

new business unit to
take advantage of the
expected growth in the
Middle East and Africa.
A
t its inaugural African Go Further
event held at the Sandton
Convention Centre on 18 July 2014,
Ford announced that its newest business
unit, Middle East and Africa (MEA), which
spans Saudi Arabia to South Africa, and
Nigeria to Kenya (comprising 67 markets),
will be bringing 25 new vehicles to this
market by 2016.
On stage were key Ford executives Jim
Benintende, Jeff Nemeth, Moray Callum
and Mark Kaufman.
Benintende was appointed president,
Ford Middle East and Africa, effective
September 2013.
Nemeth was named president and CEO
of Ford Motor Company of Southern
Africa (FMSA), effective January 2010. He
assumed additional responsibility for SubSaharan Africa in September 2013.
