Music In Advertising

Advertising on public TV is a dying breed disgruntling viewers wanting to continue watching their favourite shows. The world is ever-growing into people demanding instancy without hassle. Much like music-streaming services, there are now developments with the abililty to skip commercials or premium ad-free services. However, a lot of channels gain most funding for business continuation through advertisements. On the other hand, some viewers do look forward to commercials, for example the Christmas specials from John Lewis and that Coca Cola truck! Music is always an important factor when creating a striking advertisement, here are a few which have grabbed my attention.

Coca Cola: Choose Coca-Cola

Track: We Have Band - Honeytrap

For the first time, the brand have highlighted their four variants in one campaign. The fun retro style track suits the brand's nostalgic imagery, portraying coca cola as a timeless product. The fast rhythm is emulated in the visual effects well with fun animation.

Peugeot 108: Tech For City Living

Track: Caro Emerald - Tangled Up

This commercial I've chosen mainly because the track was one I rather liked. The visuals are a simple play on the strong features of the Peugeot 108 being mimicked through the lady's motions through the city. The track is a pretty piece which portrays a stylish image of the brand well.

People Just Do Nothing: Guide To Success

Track: Sinead Harnett - Notice Me (DJ Q Remix)

A great UK Garage track as you can expect no less from DJ Q's touch. Kurupt FM's wise words as always, "set your goals low, so that you might be able to achieve them"! The show plays on the public idea of what the underground scene is like, but in a light-hearted humorous nature.
