December 17 , 1991 The United Nations “ Zionism is Racism ” resolution is finally repealed . AJC fought for 16 years to get the resolution expunged , leading a major media campaign and holding over 100 meetings with foreign statesmen , securing pledges from many of them to support a motion to repeal .
1991 Throughout the year , and subsequently again in 2006 , AJC organizes the very first solidarity missions to arrive in Israel in the midst of missile barrages fired at the country from its neighbors . These missions underscore the degree of AJC ’ s ongoing commitment to and solidarity with Israel .
