ATWORTH PARISH PLAN
Having recently reviewed the Parish Plan first published in
September 2010, Atworth Parish Council has decided to update and
seek further input from Atworth Parishioners. From the outset the
Parish Council has held a clear vision of a Parish Plan being
necessary to ensure the delivery of the future needs of the
community and has always expressed that public consultation is a
cornerstone of the Parish Plan. This makes the Parish Plan a ‘living
document’ built around the future wishes of the community of
Atworth and the Parish Council ‘owners’ of the Parish Plan, an
important tool to be used to provide for the future needs of Atworth.
You can review the Action Plan issues which are on pages 19-23
towards the back of the Parish Plan that was delivered to your home
in 2010 or available on-line at the Parish Council website, details
below. Since 2010 a number of the Action Plan issues have been addressed and it is perhaps
no longer relevant that they remain as part of the Parish Plan and there are those Action Plan
issues that are in progress but not yet complete. There will also be those Action Plan issues
which it may not be possible to address and these may need to be reconsidered. Also and
importantly, since publication of the Parish Plan there will have been change driven by any
number of factors and as a consequence of change the wishes and objectives for the future of
our community may be different.
It is therefore necessary that the Parish Plan is managed as a ’living document’ to
accommodate and address achievement and change and updated regularly.
Atworth Parish Council wants to consult with the Parishioners it serves and invites your input to
update and redefine the future wishes and needs of Atworth at the forthcoming Parish
Assembly. If you are able to attend the Parish Assembly in the Village Hall on Wednesday 16th
April 2014 from 7PM, the Parish Plan will be on display with a provisional update provided by
the Parish Plan Steering Group. Members of the Steering Group will be on hand to discuss
achievement and change as it has affected the Parish Plan since September 2010. There will
be a ‘graffitti table’ for you to write your thoughts, ideas and wishes for your community for the
future.
It is recognised that not everyone is able to attend the Parish Assembly so next month we will
provide details on other ways you can contribute your thoughts, ideas and wishes for your
community for the future and be part of the Parish Plan update.
In the meantime if you have any questions please feel free to contact Mitch Roberts, the Parish
Clerk or any Parish Councillor. All contact details can be found at:
