Make a note in your diaries! It is only at the planning stage now, but hopefully more details will be available next month. Can you help with transport in Atworth once monthly? Three people need help with transport to and from the Atworth Institute/Village Hall for Over 55s Afternoon Tea . It is for the second Wednesday of each month, starting at 3.00 and ending at 4.30. They live along the Bath Road from Shell Court to the Bear Garage. This is not far, but too far for them to walk. If you are able to help by offering a lift, please contact Effie 01225 702228 Community Coffee Mornings Stamps Thank you, to everyone who leave used postage stamps in the box on our doorstep, or takes used stamps for the big Pot in Smiths Stores Whitley. We pack these up and distribute to RSPB to help save Albatrosses from extinction by fishing methods, to The Lifeboat Society, and to Bath Dogs/Cats Rescue. Tear off the tops of the envelopes, we will cut round the stamps. There must be a quarter inch of paper if you cut them yourself. Mavis and Ken King, 57 Godwins. Village Hall & Rec The Village Hall and Rec committee will be holding their AGM on Wednesday March 12th at 7.30pm. All villagers are welcome and if you would like to become involved please do come along to the public meeting. The Atworth Institute/Village Hall is open every Saturday 10 a.m.– 12 noon for tea and coffee . Just call in. Proceeds to the Hall. Help Our Planet Wild Flower seed packets have arrived! Dwarf Cornflower and Scented Wild Flowers from Kew Gardens, Butterfly Mix from the Royal Horticultural Society especially for children, Clover and Birdsfoot Trefoil, and Wildlife Seeds, from Alan Tichmarsh. What a difference you can make to the smallest corner of your garden, or frontage. No care needed - just let them grow naturally in a grassy area. Yes, you can cut the grass! It IS possible to help bees, butterflies, birds, and enjoy the result as well. Camera Club for Atworth Last year quite a few people asked me if I would consider starting a camera club locally. A club for anyone that is interested in photography at any level of competence , for fun and also to improve technique. The first meeting will be held in the Village hall on Monday 24th March to see if there is enough interest and decide how the club should run. If you have an interest in photography then do come along and be part of something new and help to shape how the club will work.
