Minor rant – I might as well place it here! Most of us are busily writing content for our sites and/or blogs. We want that content to represent us well, and to get our thoughts across to a fairly target audience. What we have to remember is that how we see ourselves, and how others see us, may be two distinctly different ball games. Pay attention to your feed back (comments, private messages, and e-mails). Listen to what the writer has to say. Respond to them in an appropriate fashion. If they are disagreeing with you, respond back to them in a dignified manner. Acknowledge their point, then reinforce yours.

If the comment/private message/e-mail can be perceived as an attack on you, then delete it. Responding will only encourage the sender. However, if the comment/private message/e-mail is simply expressing an opinion that you don’t agree with, look within yourself. Are you presenting yourself in a fashion that you were not aware of? Are you coming across as too harsh, too demanding, too fluffy bunny, too angry, too ‘whatever”? Take the time to think about this. If you prefer to be seen in the manner in which people are seeing you, no harm, no foul. If you see yourself in a decidedly different manner, then perhaps you need to bring your thoughts, actions, and intentions back into alignment. Rant over.
