While we are on the subject of blogs, I recently ran across something that stopped me in my tracks. At the top of the Word Press page was a click through entitled “Reblog”. WTF was this? Someone could arbitrarily reblog my blogs? Pistols at ten paces, my good man! Here is what Word Press has to say about this feature -

In a nutshell, posting a link, or a link with a few comments, is not enough. It is so much better to just post the blog itself! Will this get my blog seen? Yes, but so would a nice link! This feature is enabled all across Word Press! <Faints dead away!> <Checking Google for the availability of guard dogs!> Clicking on the “like” button will then allow you to reblog or view other similar blogs. Progress? I am still in the “I just fainted!” mode!
In a mood here, and on a roll, so let’s discuss Netiquette (better known as online behavior, or Network Etiquette). Wikipedia had a go at this one (I always take Wiki with a few grains of salt, even though I barely use salt at all): “A set of social conventions that facilitate interactions over networks, ranging from Usenet and mailing lists to blogs and forums”. So far, so good. Short discussion of using electronic signatures, and avoiding multi-posting, cross-posting and off-topic posting.
