Exploring Ethics for Metaphysical Practitioners
By Christiana Gaudet
A good ethical protocol is a necessity for healers, readers and other metaphysical practitioners. This is equally true whether you are a professional who charges money, a student who practices on friends, an adept who share skills, or a writer or teacher who educates and entertains.
The reasons for this are spiritual as well as practical, and are far-reaching. No matter our specific discipline, when we practice a metaphysical art we represent our metaphysical community. Unfortunately, some in our greater society view us as whack-a-doodles at best, and con artists at worst. If one of us behaves badly, all our reputations suffer.
On an energetic level, we lose our efficacy if our intentions and actions are less than pure. As healers, we have an inherent calling to a standard above reproach. Hippocrates himself taught that we must “Do No Harm.”
