Oh, NOW I Believe in Ghosts!

I've lived in different places around the country, but I'd never had any ghostly experiences until I moved to the SW. Now, now I'm a believer!

My first experience was when a friend of mine and some others created a 'ghost hunters' type group, and they held Ghost Tours in an old, very popular part of town. A couple friends and I took the tour on Halloween night (the inaugural tour), and we wandered through all these haunted places, but no ghosts. One odd thing did happen, though. As the guide was talking to us, he was walking backwards and at one point stumbled over a tree root or something. Instead of falling onto his back as one normally would, we all watched him fall in slow motion! It was as if someone had caught him and was helping him down slowly instead of letting him slam into the pavement. That one kept us chattering for a while!

Then we entered the jewel of the tour. It is now a restaurant, but in the past it was the home of a well-to-do family and there is a warren of rooms, many rumored to have ghosts in them. One has a cowboy that sits next to a mirror, there is a woman who takes orders from customers and then when the live waitress shows up she has to explain to them that they were talking to a ghost. Imagine that! We wandered through the rooms, eagerly looking for ghosts, but none made themselves known to us, sadly.

The last room is believed to be the most haunted, with chairs and cutlery being moved around as well as completely moved off the table,

Say what?
