I have just finished a webinar with Bonnie Cehovet on creative writing. What a truly wonderful experience! Since I was a child, I have been writing short stories about my family, and other interests in my life. Knowing how good a teacher Bonnie is, there was no way I would miss this class. It definitely lived up to my expectations. The exercises she gave us opened up thoughts inside of me that I was not consciously aware of at the time. The writing was spontaneous and fast—no time to over-think what was being written. It proved to be a lesson in thought that came bubbling to the surface without stopping to think if I used the correct word, or should make changes. If just happened! If I had been told to sit and write a short story or paragraph and submit it the next day, I probably would have sat in from of the computer and typed, retyped, and retyped over and over again until I thought it was perfect (from my point of view, that is)! But being put on the spot and told write, and write now, for the next five minutes only, there was no time to analyze the subject to death—only time to write down my thoughts as quickly as they came to me—honest, open thinking, deep from the heart and deep from within the soul of my creativeness. To be able to share these writings, and to read and understand the differences in what each of us think and write was a very enjoyable experience.
This is an experience for any and all aspiring writers who want to unleash their creative skills. It is a “must take” class, not to be missed!
