( 24 h ) of both lavender EO and linalool showed higher effect in decreasing proinflammatory cytokine mRNA expression than ACHP inhibitor following TNFα pretreatment . Moreover , both lavender EOs were found to be significantly more effective in decreasing IL-8 secretion of T24 cells after TNFα pre-treatment compared to the ACHP NFκB-inhibitor .
Conclusion : The lavender EOs may be suitable for use as an adjunct to intravesical therapy of IC . Their antiinflammatory effect could well complement glycosaminoglycan-regenerative therapy in the urinary bladder after appropriate pharmaceutical formulation .

Prevost V , Lefevre-Arbogast S , Leconte A , Delorme C , Benoit S , Tran T , Clarisse B . with the programme was high ( median satisfaction score : 9.1 out of 10 ) and all participants expressed positive attitudes towards shared meditation and a benefit on their global quality of life . Participants reported significant improvement in stress ( p < 0.001 ), global quality of life ( p = 0.004 ), self-efficacy ( p < 0.001 ), and mindfulness skills ( p < 0.001 ) from baseline to postprogramme .
Conclusions : This study demonstrated the feasibility of a shared dedicated meditation programme in terms of participation and acceptability of participants . The measured benefits observed among participants furthermore justify the interest of a subsequent randomized study aiming to demonstrate the potential added value of shared meditation by promoting bridgebuilding between cancer patients , health professionals and others . mind maps were inputted into Gephi , a network mapping , exploration , and analysis software . Various layouts of the data were produced , and these were analysed using exploratory data analysis and computational network analysis .
Results : Seven naturopathic practitioners participated in the study . In the combined network mapping , 133 unique elements and 399 links were identified . Obesity , the presenting issue in the case , was centrally located . Along with obesity , other keystone elements included : systemic inflammation , dysbiosis , diet , the liver , and mood . Each element was connected on average to 3.05 other elements , with a degree variation between one and 36 . Six communities within the dataset were identified , comprising : the nervous system and mood , gastrointestinal and dietary factors , systemic inflammation and obesity , the endocrine system and metabolism .
Shared meditation involving cancer patients , health professionals and third persons is relevant and improves well-being : IMPLIC pilot study . BMC Complementary Medicine and Therapies , 2022 ; 22 , Article number : 138 .
Background : Alleviating suffering and improving quality of life are universally shared goals . In this context , we implemented a pilot study to assess the feasibility and acceptability of a mindfulness intervention in the form of meditation involving together cancer patients , health professionals , and third persons .
Methods : Two groups of 15 participants equally composed of patients , health professionals and third persons were constituted . A dedicated programme on mindfulness and compassion was constructed , including 12 weekly sessions of 1.5 h and a half-day retreat . Adherence and satisfaction with the programme were evaluated . All participants completed questionnaires on perceived stress , quality of life , mindfulness , empathy , and selfefficacy . Burnout was assessed in health professionals .
Results : Shared meditation was feasible as 70 % of participants attended ≥ 80 % of the 13 meditation sessions . Satisfaction

Primary health care case management through the lens of complexity : an exploratory study of naturopathic practice using complexity science principles . BMC Complementary Medicine and Therapies ( 2022 ) 22:107 . https :// doi . org / 10.1186 / s12906-022- 03585-2
Background : Advances in systems science creates an opportunity to bring a complexity perspective to health care practices and research . While medical knowledge has greatly progressed using a reductionist and mechanistic philosophy , this approach may be limited in its capacity to manage chronic and complex illness . With its holistic foundation , naturopathy is a primary health profession with a purported alignment with a complexity perspective . As such this pilot study aimed to investigate the application of complexity science principles , strategies , and tools to primary health care using naturopathy as a case study .
Methods : A network mapping and analysis of the naturopathic case management process was conducted . Mind maps were created by naturopathic practitioners to reflect their clinical conceptualisation of a common paper clinical case . These
Conclusions : This pilot study demonstrates that it is feasible to apply a complexity science perspective to investigating primary health care case management . This supports a shift to viewing the human organism as a complex adaptive system within primary health care settings , with implications for health care practices that are more cognisant with the treatment of chronic and complex conditions and research opportunities to capture the complex clinical reasoning processes of practitioners .

Interest and need for continuing medical education in pediatric complementary and integrative medicine : a cross-sectional survey from Switzerland . BMC Complementary Medicine and Therapies , 2022 ; 22 , Article number : 106 .
Background : Pediatric integrative medicine , combining conventional and complementary medical approaches for children and adolescents , is an integral part of the health care system in Switzerland . However , there is still a lack of complementary and integrative medicine topics in training and continuing educational programs . For the first time on
