Uncovering the potential mechanism of Xue Fu Zhu Yu Decoction in the treatment of intracerebral hemorrhage . BMC Complement Med Ther . 2022 ; 22 , 103 . https :// doi . org / 10.1186 / s12906-022-03577-2 speculation strategy proposed by us .
Conclusions : Our strategy of optimizing the effective compound groups and inferring the mechanism provides a strategic reference for explaining the optimization and inferring the molecular mechanism of prescriptions in treating complex diseases of CHM . changed their women ’ s health practice in the past 12 months ; just over a quarter of those who changed treatment ( 27 %) reported it was due to research findings . The most commonly used sources of information / CE used to inform treatment were webinars and conferences , while peer-reviewed journal articles were the least commonly used source .
Background : Chinese herbal medicine ( CHM ) is characterized by “ multicompounds , multi-targets and multipathway ”, which has advanced benefits for preventing and treating complex diseases , but there still exists unsolved issues , mainly include unclear material basis and underlying mechanism of prescription . Integrated pharmacology is a hot cross research area based on system biology , mathematics and poly-pharmacology . It can systematically and comprehensively investigate the therapeutic reaction of compounds or drugs on pathogenic genes network , and is especially suitable for the study of complex CHM systems . Intracerebral Hemorrhage ( ICH ) is one of the main causes of death among Chinese residents , which is characterized with high mortality and high disability rate . In recent years , the treatment of ICH by CHM has been deeply researched . Xue Fu Zhu Yu Decoction ( XFZYD ), one of the commonly used prescriptions in treating ICH at clinic level , has not been clear about its mechanism .
Methods : Here , we established a strategy , which based on compounds-targets , pathogenetic genes , network analysis and node importance calculation . Using this strategy , the core compounds group ( CCG ) of XFZYD was predicted and validated by in vitro experiments . The molecular mechanism of XFZYD in treating ICH was deduced based on CCG and their targets .
Results : The results show that the CCG with 43 compounds predicted by this model is highly consistent with the corresponding Compound-Target ( C-T ) network in terms of gene coverage , enriched pathway coverage and accumulated contribution of key nodes at 89.49 %, 88.72 % and 90.11 %, respectively , which confirmed the reliability and accuracy of the effective compound group optimization and mechanism

The changing clinical landscape in acupuncture for women ’ s health : a crosssectional online survey in New Zealand and Australia . BMC Complement Med Ther . 2022 ; 22 , 94 . https :// doi . org / 10.1186 / s12906-022-03576-3
Background : Acupuncture is a popular treatment for women ’ s health . Several trials and meta-analysis have been published in recent years on key women ’ s health conditions but it is unclear if this has led to any changes in clinical practice or referrals from other health professionals . The aim of this survey was to explore if , how , and why , aspects of acupuncture practice have changed since our survey in 2013 .
Method : An online cross-sectional survey of registered acupuncturists and Chinese Medicine practitioners in Australia and New Zealand . Questions covered the practitioner demographics and training , women ’ s health conditions commonly treated , modalities used , sources of information and continuing education ( CE ) ( e . g . webinars ), changes in clinical practice , and referral networks .
Results : One hundred and seventy registered practitioners responded to this survey , with 93 % reporting treating women ’ s health in the last 12 months . The majority of respondents were from Australia ( 60 %), held a bachelors level qualification ( 60 %), and used a traditional Chinese medicine framework ( 86 %). Most practitioners incorporated other modalities in addition to acupuncture . Most practitioners ’ referral networks were predominantly based on word of mouth for menstrual , fertility and pregnancy related conditions , with referrals from medical practitioners being much less common . More than half ( 57 %) reported having
Conclusion : Acupuncture practitioners in Australia and New Zealand commonly treat women ’ s health conditions , but this is usually the result of women seeking them out , rather than being referred from a medical practitioner . The majority of practitioners did report changing their women ’ s health practice , but peer reviewed academic articles alone are not an ideal medium to convey this information since practitioners favour knowledge obtained from webinars and conferences . Academics and other clinician researchers should consider alternative means of disseminating knowledge beyond traditional academic publications and conferences , special interest groups may assist in this and also help improve research literacy .

Effects of auricular acupressure on chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting in breast cancer patients : a preliminary randomized controlled trial . BMC Complement Med Ther . 2022 ; 22 , 87 . https :// doi . org / 10.1186 / s12906-022-03543-y
Background : Auricular acupressure ( AA ) has been viewed as a promising approach to managing chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting ( CINV ) but relevant research evidence has been inconclusive . This study aimed to examine the effects of AA on CINV in breast cancer ( BC ) patients undergoing chemotherapy .
Methods : A preliminary randomized controlled trial was conducted in 114 BC patients . Participants were randomly allocated to a true AA group ( n = 38 ), a sham AA group ( n = 38 ), and a standard care group ( n = 38 ). All the participants were provided with standard antiemetic treatment and care , while the true AA group and the sham AA group received
