PARAMEDIC PROGRAM REACCREDITED
In 2014, after an assessment of the Paramedic Program and student successes, ASUMH
began a major reorganization and rebuilding of the program. Instructors went through
a rigorous audit of teaching methods, clinical opportunities, testing methods, program
goals and performance outcomes. After this intensive process, the Paramedic Program
at ASUMH has been reaccredited for another five years by CAAHEP, the Commission on
Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs.
Today, the redesigned, robust program has some of the highest student pass rates
on national boards and highest job-placement rates in Arkansas immediately after
graduation. In 2017, the program had a 100% national pass rate in both the Paramedic
and EMT programs.
ASUMH’s program also boasts some of the newest state-of-the-art medical equipment for training and simulation. Part-
nerships with local employers such as BRMC, Air Evac and Survival Flight provide Paramedic students with educational
clinical training and experiences that prepare them to launch into the field immediately after graduation.
Paramedics are in short supply in Arkansas and the nation. There are several reasons for this, including many
