INTEGRATED MEDICAL SUPPORT
A dedicated team of nurses, physiotherapists, and doctors from the Australian Institute of Sport( Canberra) were based onsite, providing consistent, high-quality medical and recovery support, supplementing the medical staff appointed to the Australian Olympic Team.
This ensured continuity of care in a familiar environment, allowing athletes to manage training loads, recovery, and pre-competition preparation with confidence.
UNIFORM DISTRIBUTION
A dedicated warehouse, local staff, supplemented with local volunteers enabled the Australian Olympic Committee and Paralympics Australia to pick n pack uniforms, distribute to athletes, manage swaps and leverage local tailors for alterations in an efficient way
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
The ETC also provided a place for athletes to engage with Australian and local Government officials, sponsors, media and family and friends. With Australia Day falling in the week prior to the Olympic Games, local touches like Vegemite on toast and meat pies were a favourite. Local students also had the opportunity to engage with athletes, with a number of Olympic athletes attending nearby schools to share their story and inspire the next generation.
OPERATIONAL DELIVERY AT SCALE
The ETC operated as a highvolume logistical hub throughout the campaign, managing the day-to-day requirements of a complex, multi-sport delegation. In addition to local language support, this included:

This operational support reflects the scale and intensity of service delivery required to support National Olympic and Paralympic Committees in a modern Games campaign.

Managing arrivals, departures, and internal logistics for athletes and staff, across Europe prior to and during a multi-venue Games.
PROXIMITY & ACCESSIBILITY
Offering a base within Northern Italy, allowing efficient travel to Games venues while maintaining a performance-focused environment.
TEAM ENVIRONMENT & FAMILIARITY
Leveraging local language, contacts and know-how to help create a cohesive, team-oriented atmosphere that supported both performance preparation and psychological readiness.
DELIVERING PERFORMANCE
The ETC’ s contribution was made possible through close collaboration with Australian high-performance sport stakeholders including the Australian Olympic Committee, Paralympics Australia, Olympic Winter Institute of Australia, National Federations and state Institutes of sport, ensuring services were aligned with the specific needs of each sport.
LEGACY & FUTURE IMPACT
The success of the ETC’ s role reinforces the importance of international training hubs in modern high-performance sport.
The ETC continues to demonstrate its value as an international high-performance hub, capable of supporting complex, multi-sport campaigns and delivering integrated, athlete-focused environments at scale and is anticipated to play a similar role in the French Alps Winter Games of 2030.
