Asian INVASION
ERNEST L. DYANGKO
Eating in two Asian restaurants and creating a video presentation of a cooking demonstration are our goals in this activity. We sis it all in one day so what does that mean? Full stomachs for us! In learning that we are doing this project, I was glad that our Chef instructor gave it to us because I consider eating as fun especially eating delicious food three times that day. There were six of us in the group. We all went to Trinoma mall one Saturday and we started early knowing that we would have a long day ahead of us. First stop, we ate at "Pho Hoa", a Vietnamese restaurant that serves fresh and healthy Vietnamese dishes. We ordered "Bhan Mi", a French inspired sandwich that consist of liver pate on both sides of the baguette, pickled vegetables and grilled chicken. The original Bhan Mi should have a Vietnamese sausage but we ordered the grilled chicken so that it would be healthier. Another dish that we ordered was Pho, a fresh and light beef soup. It consists of fresh vegetables, a rich beef stock and strips beef. The restaurant allowed us to refill the stock so all of us were full in just one order of the Pho. Those two dishes were my favourite in that restaurant. For the second stop, we ate at "Banana Leaf", a Thai restaurant that is very authentic with their dishes. We ordered a lot in this restaurant because we decided to stay there longer. We had Chicken Satay, Beef Curry, Roti, Tetarik and a lot more. Those mentioned were my favourites. The Tetarik had bubbles in it so I was enlightened that they made it as authentic as possible. I enjoyed the Curry it was very rich and creamy. The beef was very tender and succulent. When we finished curry, I took a piece of the Roti and dip it in the remaining curry and it was so satisfying.
