Russell Peirson-Hagger, ATG Danmon UK’s managing director, previews what visitors can expect. different manufacturers can work seamlessly together. Marquis PARKING is a storage management solution for use with Avid post-production platforms. The solution provides an Avid project and workspace-aware toolset to analyse, manage and optimise shared storage. NPT Technology’s Penta 720 is a versatile 2U audio router and distribution interface handling analogue and digital audio signals via AES/ EBU, MADI or SDI SD/HD/3Gembedded audio. Incorporating a 1400 x 1400 multiplexer, it can also interface via IP Gigabit Ethernet using Dante/AES67 and optical-fibre networks. Optional plug-in cards can be accommodated, while available cards include an eight-channel analogue I/O, a two-channel SDI/ HD/3G embedder/de-embedder, an eight-channel AES/EBU I/O with sample rate converter, and a twochannel MADI interface. NTP Technology’s DAD AX32 is the ultimate A/D or D/A converter, monitor controller and digital format converter for recording and post-production applications, where eight to 48 channels of analogue inputs or outputs are needed. The monitor controller unit is Eucon-enabled for interfacing to the Avid S6 control surface. Eight AES/EBU I/O, MADI I/O and up to three MADI ports, Dante AoIP and an interface for Avid Pro Tools are available. An additional eight cards can be installed with 3G SDI embedder/de-embedders, AES/ EBU with sample rate converter and MADI I/O connections. How are these highlights a reflection of the direction in which Asia’s broadcast industry is heading? Peirson-Hagger: As a systems integrator, we need to ensure we are tuned to new developments because our customers rely on us to make the right technological choice, so they can gain maximum benefit from their investment. Our success both within APAC and around the globe stems from over 20 years of experience in producing systems which can be scaled up easily to meet demand for extra programme channels and new delivery platforms. Most importantly, these expansions must be achievable within each customer’s existing operational framework. What are some of the emerging technology trends you expect to impact Asia’s broadcast industry in the near future? Peirson-Hagger: Key themes we expect to be discussing with our customers are the industry’s evolution to 4K/Ultra HD (UHD) and high dynamic range (HDR) when considering future system upgrades. Developments in IP-based networking also has much to offer in today’s increasingly file-based broadcast media world. ❝As a systems integrator, we need to ensure we are tuned to new developments because our customers rely on us to make the right technological choice, so they can gain maximum benefit from their investment.❞
