Sports day( Lower School)

On Tuesday June 4 th, Primary went to the annual trip called ' Sports Day '. On the trip we separated by classes and did various activities. Peio Urkidi and Laurent Williams organized to prepare everything and make the trip possible. We rotated from stage to stage, they were: sack race, long jump, shot with a ball, sprint and then one that was to rest. The ones who won the sprint went to the final which was at the end of the trip. As we had time to do another activity, we did a relay race against a younger or older class. With so much sport, everyone was hungry so we all went back to school to fill those hungry and thirsty stomachs.

Maritime Museum Visit( 3 rd Grade)

Third grade has been on a trip to the Maritime Museum. They have had a great time, and it was a great trip. They started out with the activity the children enjoyed the most, a workshop, in which they represented what happens when a cargo ship arrives to the port and how a tug boat guides the ship into port. Then, they went on a tour of the dry dock to see the different ships there and learn what they were for. After that, they went into the museum to see the exhibits and do a treasure hunt. The part the children enjoyed the most, apart from the workshop outside, was looking at a model of Bilbao made of wax called " Piel de Luz ". The children enjoyed the trip very much, and according to their teacher, Kate Barker, they were extremely well behaved.

Puppet Sessions for Teachers & Students
On the 29 th and 30 th of April, we had a very special guest visit our school. This creative man is Gary Friedman. Gary is an accomplished puppeteer, performer, director and producer for live theatre, educational theatre and television. He has a gift for the imaginative and patient skills needed for handling these magical creatures. He has travelled all over the world, and has been involved in the education and entertainment industry since 1978. He has attended puppet workshops throughout Africa, Europe, Canada, the United States and Australia. When he visited our school, he did a workshop with both different grades of students and teachers. These sessions were i n t e r e s t i n g a n d provided a great way to work together and learn about this art. At
first we did a bit of“ brain gym” with exercises for our body, eyes and brain to warm us up and get us concentrated. Gary made a great performance using scrunched sheets of paper to make his puppet; with the methods that he used to show breathing and moving, he seemed to make the puppet come alive! We also got to try this ourselves, as we all received some paper and then used our imagination to personalize it. Finally, some classes had a great activity in which they were grouped into threesomes to create a big puppet. They had to work together to make the arms, legs and head come together well and coordinated. As Ms. Arancha Ramos, our learning specialist, said:“ it was a great way to develop our creativity and imagination and each put in a piece of the puzzle as they collaborated to make the puppet come alive!”
