Major attractions at kalpetta
Pookode Lake
Pookode Lake is a natural freshwater lake which is situated 15 km from Kalpetta. The lake is surrounded by evergreen forest and mountains. Freshwater aquarium, water walking and boating are the main attractions.
Chembra Peak
Chembra is the highest peak in Wayanad lying 2100 meter above sea level in the western ghats, it is the best place for trekking. Heart shaped Chembra lake on the way to the peak is a major attraction.
Banasura Sagar Dam
Banasura Sagar dam is the largest earth dam in India and second largest in Asia on the Karamanathodu tributary of Kabani River. The major attractions are Speed boating, Horse riding and trekking to Banasura Hill.
