New Year, a new world
Life a canoe in the stormy sea
Where I like a sailor rowing without oar
Isn’t it happiness what I long for
From the spurious and deceitful world!
Though searched the zenith and nadir
Of this universe with zeal, it like a dragon
Hide the treasure under her wings,
So dreadful a place to peep in.
I, being a saner realized, where many fail,
That no mascot will appear
To drag us out of this hell, but
We ourselves are the harbingers
Of love, happiness and peace.
We are endowed amply by our maker
With both virtue and vice, but malice
Overwhelming honesty leads to grief.
Awaiting the resurrection we sit idle
Hoping he would mend the wounds.
Why not we make an attempt
To be humane and to make others same!
Desire causes grievance, says Budha
Whereas it clasping with action, feel I,
Attain a blissful state of being.
