Education is the most important vehicle for transformation of a society. It is a powerful tool that enables a child to realize himself, a youth to pursue his livelihood, a citizen to contribute in nation building and human to preserve his mother earth.
Even though education is well recognized in India from the very ancient ages, it will not be an exaggeration to say that our education system is in disarray.
The challenges that the education system faces can be portrayed in four ‘E’s; Excellence, Equity, Employability and Expansion. Both elementary and higher education are plagued with poor learning outcomes in India and the accessibility to education system is highly unequal. A survey conducted by Chamber of Commerce finds that, more than 64% of employers are not satisfied with employability of students passing out from Indian Educational Institutions.
