TESTIMONIAL FROM ARCHA S RAJ ON SMILE CAMP
Skill Mentorship for Innovative Life Experience (SMILE) camp was one of the mOst wonderful things happened to me in the recent times. I got to know about the camp from my neighbor who is working with ASAP as an SDE. In fact I was not very excited about giving an entrance test and attending a camp that followed during the vacation. But I and my twin brother (Aromal S.Raj) decided to attend the test as our parents wanted us to. To be honest, after the exam we never thought we will make it into the camp and so the call for SMILE camp was more of a surprise for us.
The camp commenced on the 3rd of May in WSS Training Centre, Thalappuzha and ended on 5th May. Initially I felt out of place as it was the first camp I attended of this kind. But the initial welcome programme, ice breaking sessions and introduction gave way to interesting activities and I understood that I am attending one of the most happening sessions in my life. Thanks to the resource persons and ambience. Almost all the session focused on choosing a career by creating self awareness among the prospective students. The exercises and activities were brainstorming and interesting. The yoga classes in the morning were refreshing and energizing. We enjoyed the newspaper making session. With each session, I understood the need to think out of box and the importance of being a team player. The aptitude test was an eye opener in many ways. Experience sharing sessions and workshops on entrepreneurship were also conducted which inspired us to the core.
The hospitality of ASAP family was most appreciable; the faculty was really friendly and helpful and we found them approachable. Their mentorship was very much felt at every stage of the camp. The delicious food, camp fire, beautiful stay, wonderful friends, amazing faculty, innovative activities and the inspiring sessions all made this camp a memorable experience which I would like to cherish in my life.
