At some point I would. I was offered a part in a show at Belvoir Street Theatre earlier this year. I said no because I wasn’t quite ready to get back on stage... it’s been six years and my focus is on film and TV at the moment. I would love to play Romeo, or Brick in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. The latter because the play is incredible and the character is so conflicted.
You are also a writer, and your Twitter bio is simply: “Story Teller.” What kind of stories would you like to tell? I’m interested in the taboo. Whatever society is uncomfortable talking about is usually what interests me. I like to provoke thought and discussion.
What projects are you currently working on? You are now teaching classes in acting. What is the most important thing about acting you try to pass on to your students? I love being around actors and creative people. It is very inspiring to watch actors grow, take risks and try things out. I think acting is a very noble profession – one that is essential to the soul of a community. We tell stories, and stories have the power to change – people and countries. I’m about to start shooting for a television show called Redfern Now (Series 2). Playing a cop. And I’m writing a feature film with Cedar Boys director, Serhat Caradee, in which I will play the lead character. Writing and directing are areas I have always wanted to explore, and that is starting to happen.
