Ashley Brilliant. I didn't believe that was the author's real
name and for that reason, (since I am a fan of anonymous
writers) had to flip and read a sampling of his work. The
title of the volume was, "I've Given up My Search for
Truth; Now I Am Looking For A Good Fantasy". The entire
book had to do with the tension, joy and frustration of
enduring as a couple. There was one account that made
me laugh and remains with me to this day, this Eve of
Valentine.
Mr. Brilliant tells of an anxious time, sleepless nights,
searching for a resolution to difficulty he and his
"significant other" were having. He was at his wit's end
and truly wanted to find some way, some answer, to fix
their relationship. He tells of an experience wherein he
received revelation regarding him and his partner. He was
ecstatic. He phoned his mate at work and shared as
much with her.
"Honey, I laid awake again last night and after all this time,
I have finally figured out what is at the heart of our
troubles!"
"Ashley, are you okay...? What are you saying?"
"Honey, I have finally figured it out and I can't wait until
you come home to hear what I have realized. I now know
what is wrong with us.”
"What are you saying?"
"I am not saying anything more right now. I will have the
house ready when you return. There will be a special
dinner waiting and a night of discovery and celebration.
When you get home, just get your shower, dress in the
things I've laid out on the bed and report to the kitchen for
a wonderful meal and an account of my realization."
