The Secret Weave of Life By Lois A. Tanner Deep within my memory, the most inner part of me, Swirl visions of past lived things, all a hidden key, Of everything I’ve sensed, all I know, what I believe, All the experienced things that make up the riddle of me. People, places, voices, things, aspirations, and dreams, Past thoughts and feelings float on golden streams. Each has formed some opinion, sentiment, or persuasion, Every occurrence has a role, a function in the total equation. Each person that I’ve loved, everything they have taught, Each word, mannerism, smile, helping hand, or loving thought, Is a piece sewn into the colorful quilt that I now don. One by one they have written a page in the book that I now act upon. Yet, so in turn, have all the hurts and unpleasant things, Each defeat, harsh word, anguish, or loss have strummed painful strings. At one time, each has closed or slowed the path to reaching my full skill. All are stones that block the path of my destiny to fulfill. All are mountains to be climbed, each must be faced and defeated, Before my ambitions, hopes, and plans can ever be completed.
