Look Within Over on the hillside stands a lone crooked ol’ tree. And its beauty may at first, not be easy to see. When God made this tree, he put His beauty deep within, And I am like this tree, standing to the wind. The world winds may blow, the mightiest down. Yet this lone ol’ tree, has somehow held His ground. But not without costs, some breaks and tears. And I am like this tree, when the storm is over I’m still here. The tree was small, the tree grew tall, And the seasons and the years made it strong. And the tree learned from the wind, To live, I’ve got to bend. So if you see on a hillside, a lone crooked ol’ tree. And if at first its beauty, is not so easy to see. Remember God made this tree, and God made you and me. And look within for the beauty inside us all. © Greg Hicks 2016
