Acadiana Movement Collective is hosting a special celebratory dancewave for Day of the Dead/All Souls Day.
The mood will be set to welcome costumed dancers if you are feeling it. Or paint your face. Or not.
Come as yourself. This dancewave will be slightly longer than normal. May be bordering on two hours!!!
The same dancewave guidelines will apply= we will circle up at 7pm and close the doors to preserve the privacy of the dance.
No alchohol.
The Day of the Dead is typically celebrated to honor those family and friends who have gone before us.
Bring those honorings along with you as well as your celebration of your life now! What are you doing to enrich your life? How are you making it fuller, more rewarding?
How are you inviting grace into your life? And how are you not?
This will be our time to explore these aspects while also looking at our idea/fear/welcoming of death. Death is not just an end to this life as we know it.
We experience death of old habits, friendships that no longer serve us, ideas and how we view our world. Old experiences we may hold on to. Beliefs about who we are.
With all that said, this will be more than another dancewave experience. It will be a journey.
