OUR PRESENT PRESIDENT
One of the hardest things
to do is to explain one’s
feelings, the unspoken
words. We make use of
different languages to
express, one such
languages are ‘ART’ to
reveal, heal, transfigure.
My interest towards ART
has started with my
emotion, where I was
completely weak,
impotent, began to lose
pieces and pieces of
myself.
I order to
revitalise myself, I started
a unique way of painting
called Spray Painting.
Within one to two months
I could master in it. The
fumes, each and every
stroke gives me energy;
dripping oils, wiping
brushes wipes all my
hidden tears and
emotions. Finally, it gave
me an evolution, an uplift
from darkness to blazing
light and dazzling
brilliance.
With this vehemence, ardour I
entered in to ARTISTA, the art
club of GNITS in 2017, Ms.
Vyshanavi was our President.
During our college fest they
gave me a chance to perform
a live spray painting. Initially I
was not confident enough, but
with the encouragement from
our club I could complete two
paintings within 30 minutes.
One of the paintings was EYE
painting, which expresses an
eye, global warming and
national flag. Brought me
fame, stardom, and later Spray
painting has become my
passion. And people started
addressing me as ‘SPRAY
PAINTING AKKA’.
The following year, I
was the President, and Aparna
ma’am was our in charge. Our
club has 7 EB members, 45
coordinators. Everyone has a
specific and defined role.
Aparna ma’am, she
encouraged us, and was very
supportive. One day, in a
meeting she asked us to bring
hidden talents from students
which can later become their
career. With that word we
came with the
idea of conducting a Spray
Painting workshop. The
workshop was a hit, participation
was huge.
For coordinators
selection, we conducted
interviews, depending on their
interest and passion for arts we
selected. The achievements of
our club are because of
combined effort, togetherness of
each individual. I can talk endless
about our EB. For the first time
we got a chance to decorate for
the Alumnae 2019, that was a
great responsibility, I was so
tensed and bemused if we can
handle it or not, my team were
like ‘Srithisha we can do it and
we will do it’, that word gave me a
lot of support. After entering in to
ARTISTA, I slowly kept washing
away the dust of my daily life and
presented it in the form of
colours and my life is vibrant
now.
I’m very much grateful
to be a part of Artista, for such a
great support from board
members, coordinators. I would
like to thank - the management,
Principal, HODs, Faculty for
supporting, encouraging at every
stage.
