Mindmapping

Mind mapping is a technique we all know about. I want to share in our newsletter how it helped me in my studies. Mind mapping is unique in its effectiveness because it organizes information in the same way our brain understands. Our memory is not linear but associative; this associativity is clearly established through a mind map with its main point, its several links and pictures connecting to the sub points. Another aspect is that it involves both left and right brain, hence is ideal and effective for any individual.

Personally I have used mind map in notes taking during my regular studies which has helped greatly in revisions later on. After joining Gavel Club, it has even helped me in both speech preparation and speech evaluation. Fig. 1 is a mind map for effective speech preparation.
